I have a 08 SB with 2900 miles on it. bought back in Feb of 08 now i know what you all are thinking that im a garage rider ..lol but since i have bought i have been deployed twice and now im headed to Korea in Dec so when i get back in a year the bike will about 4 1/2 years old with a little over 3000 miles on it ..so was wondering if would be worth a trade in ? really liking the the Blackline but love my SB
Miles don't really matter on dealer trades. I also like the Blackline but I love my SB. Trade in for an 08 SB on a Blackline? Dealer will give you between 6-7k. If they give you more its because they shuffled the numbers around to make it look like it.
You have a sweet bike so why trade it in? You'll get about half of what you have in it just to have a newer bike sit in the garage. I understand why it is sitting, but it is still sitting. At this rate it will last a lifetime anyways, so why not keep it....
I think you all are right ..the more i think about it ..the Blackline would be a sweet bike but than i would have to start all over with the mods ..(but that would be fun ) but in short the SB would be paid off and would would allow me to finish up the mods on the SB ..like paint (flat black) thought about doing some engine work ..if i can find a place in Fort Lewis and the springer seat ..so all in all it would be best to keep the SB ...she is a joy to ride !!
I was offered just about 60% of what I paid for my '08 fatbob a few weeks back when i was inquiring about a fatboy promo. It does have 30 k miles on it mind you, but like you I thought, going to get all the mods plus the money that will have to go out on a new bike...... not really worth the hassle,So I put a 103 stage 2 on it!!!
Every day you were deployed is an extension day on your HD factory warranty. Might make a difference. If you had a two year warranty that was due to expire in Feb 10, and have done more than 18 months OCO since you bought it YOU ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY.

The program will apply to owners of Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles who are coalition military personnel from any country deployed to an area controlled by CENTCOM, or deployed in support of coalition operations in the Middle East from November 1, 2001 and on. If their motorcycle is under warranty, Harley-Davidson and Buell will provide an extension of the factory warranty for the number of days they were deployed to account for the balance of the remaining warranty period. If the warranty on any of their Harley-Davidson or Buell motorcycles expired while they were deployed in the designated areas, Harley-Davidson will offer additional warranty coverage for a period of time equal to the length of their deployment, but not to exceed the original factory warranty period.
