Q: What do you guys mean by "suggest" an autotune? Maybe my software is out of date, but I don't recall seeing suggestions. [It has been a while]

 

Here is a sample of what you see when you open up the Control Center. Under the front cyl it recommends Auto Tune. Personally I never ran AT when just recommended, I wanted to get more samples and miles on the tuning. When the state of tune gets more critical it will tell you in stronger terms.
Check online to make sure you have the latest software and firmware.
