I have a 1999 FXD that I am changing the front end to a stock wide glide FXDW front end and also plan on lowering the rear an inch with shorter shocks.
My question is if anyone can tell me how this is going to affect my trail. If I'm correct, the stock wide glide trees have a 3 degree rake built in and also I think the tubes are an inch or two longer than a stock FXD. I'm just trying to figure out how these three things (Lowering the rear an inch, 3 degree trees, and longer tubes) are going to affect the trail and handling. Thanks for any help.
Not all sure. i have a 2001 FXD and im told by everybody never go with the wideglide front end! they told me handeling will be bad! Lowering the rear must be done with shocks and never just brackets. Let me know how you make out,Davey

Keithb is right, the tree is the same the head, like the Lowrider is the same. The forks are longer (maybe) because of the angle of the head. I have a FXD and I bought Lowrider rear shocks and the spring kit to lower the front forks. No problem.
