Default Engine Heat

I know this is a nooby question but I was wondering how long typically should it take for your engine to cool down. I have a 2011 Fat Bob that I just had in to the stealer where I had mostly cosmetic stuff done new primary cover, tri lcd tail light, chrome sprocket, etc. It may be in my mind but I sense a little more vibration when riding and also noticed after sitting for 3 hours the primary compartment seemed still very warm or even hot to the touch. Is it possible that some oil leaked out when they changed out the primary cover. I did check the engine oil and it looked full to me. Any ideas...

The bike is a 96 CI. If this were a V8, that would equate to a 384CI (6.3 ltr), so it creates and holds lot of heat. I think mine will take at least 3-4 hours for a complete cool down.

Sounds normal. Before they removed the primary they drained all the primary oil.
It's separate from the engine (and tranny) oil.

I know its a bit **** but, when im done riding I put a K-mart floor fan on next to my motor for an hour to cool things down.I just hate the idea of that motor putting all that heat out with no air flow in the garage.

Actually, that's not a good thing for the motor, or other parts. They have to 'normalize', that is slowly reach room temp at their 'normal' rate of cooling. What you are doing is speeding up the cooling process. Not as bad as dumping hot metal into cold water, but still, it's not good for the metal. Slow cooling time allows the metal to naturally contract to it's natural state. Speeding it up could cause it to become brittle over time.
