Default Night Modding..

SUPER repetitive thread sorry.....working on relocating front signals, i've used "search" and cant find anything specific enough and im trying to bang this out tonight. WHERE ARE THE SIGNAL WIRE DISCONNECTS? Some say yank it out from the side, some say full tank removal...id rather not solder so i'd like to disconnect at the correct points. I follow the signal wiring down from the signals, the textured sheathing around the bundle of wires goes into the neck then appears it become the smooth sheathing which goes under the gas tank. are the disconnect points in the neck, at the opening of the tank, under the tank or somewhere else? What color are the actual wires? If i could just find them i feel like this would have been a 20 minute job... feel free to talk to me like a moron and really dumb this down, thanks.

On the two dynas 01&05 that I removed the front signals on, both of the plugs were inside of the top frame tube. You need to pull the wiring harness out of the frame and the unplug them.. easy job

OK. you didn't search very hard.

been available in the Stickies for years

...............click this link

............................................wiring
.
.
.
you will find the connectors in the backbone,
below the front of the tank..........
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
07 FXDB......... should be Molex connectors (below)
(((06 used Deutsch.....https://www.hdforums.com/forum/4277701-post1093.html. )))
.

.

Molex connector poking tool.
The 06 handlebar controls used Deutsch.
In 07 they went to Molex.
.
.

Very simple to remove the wires. (pix follow)

First off you have a hook tool........

.
Insert the hook tool into one of the D shaped holes
and the point will aim at the other Dhole.
.

.
Above, use the tool to pull up about a quarter inch.
(you are pulling up the secondary lock)
.
Now, below I show a little T wrench I made up,
(for the primary lock)
using .032 stainless steel wire.......
.

.
Now, below, this is where you wanna poke your tool.
Doesn't take much, you don't need to bend anything.
Just push your tool in gently,
and pull it out the back (the wire).
.

.
.
All of the high performance fittings that are used these days are marked.

Whether they be AMP, Deutsch, or Molex (pictured below).

..........they are all marked...........................................

mud is 100% correct, I just removed mine (they;re listed in the classifieds with the relocation brackets).
Very easy to do, to help with space you can unbolt the tank in the front and lift it up enough to stuff a rag under it between the tank and the frame.
You can use any number of things to keep it lifted, I just used a wad of rags for cosmetic protection. The wires are black so colored wires won't help you, I just slightly pulled and pushed on the blinker wires while holding different wires under the backbone until I felt resistance and that's the one I unplugged.
mud's pic's show it all....pull down the plastic cover (first two pics) unclip the correct wire (3rd pic) and pull the wires through the frame, and you're good to go.

Can you unplug from the signal end and go backwards or is it pretty solidly attached?
