Well I talked to the boss lady the other day on the phone and threw out there that I was going to get a tuner. I am looking at Fuel Moto as I have heard nothing but good from folks on here and have a bud that has used them with good things to say.I plan on getting the Power Commander V and a new a/c. I have a couple questions.
Do I need dyno time and programmer to use this thing?
-- I don't know anything about the tuners other than they make the bike run better and cooler. Harley wanted appoximately $800 for the race tuner and dyno time. (Might have been $700 as I spoke to them about 2 months ago)
What is a good a/c and what should I stay away from?
--seems I have heard issues about Arlen Ness big sucker backing plates not being so great
I have the Rush slip on mufflers on right now. No other mods have been done. I would like to cool it off and run better.
Also, I am stationed in DE and wondering if any of you guys are from that area. Do you know any good shops around my area. I live about 20 minutes south of Dover..... Well take care and hope to hear back....

From what I've heard, Jaimie at Fuel Moto has a good reputation with the PCV and provides a good base map and good customer service to get you set up ... I have no first hand experience, however ....
I started my round of mods with a DFO ... later 'upgraded' to a ThunderMax w/ AutoTune system ... a lot more costly alternative, but much more capable unit ....
The AutoTune feature is also on several of the other systems available and I recommend it ...
I think part of the calculus has to be your pricing points ... as and when you are at the point of modifications to your motor where you will need to spend money on a dyno tune, in my mind it makes sense to look at the AutoTune systems ...
The slightly higher price level of the AutoTune units can be offset by the cost of the labor hours in dyno tuning ... thus, it is a trade-off ...
If you spend the money on a dyno tune and then end up doing more mods later, you'll end up spending the same dollars again to dial it in a second time ... with an AutoTune, the base map can be updated and the AT will do the rest ....
Good luck with your decision ... you'll get a lot of good feedback from members on this forum ... you might also look around on one of the technical forums ....
