Default Primary Drive Belt Vs Chain

I see some custom made choppers as well as Hot Rods has primary drive as Belt.
H-D makes all of their MC's primary drive as chain,

Is there a vast difference between them.
What are the pros & cons of choosing one over the other?

What are the benefits if I convert my 09 drive from chain to belt?

It becomes a dry system......no more primary oil so I'm sure it requires a dry clutch etc.

They dont have a compensator. It will not be quite as smooth of a ride while putting around town. The older units had noisy clutches. Some people think it sounds cool, others think it is very annoying.

In my opinion its all about the look, they do look very nice but reviews seem like the stock primary (closed/chain) seem to be better all around.
