I use the harley quick detach with 16" apes... I think it looks fine you have to have a windshield in Oklahoma on some of these wide open plains roads and the Oklahoma wind, on both days this weekend was a steady 30 mph with gust over 40... so there are days when a windshield is needed around here...

I know what you mean, I rode yesterday against a head wind that gusted to about 40 mph. It was all I could do to hang on while breezing along about 80
I like to ride in the winter, I have my leather over pants, jacket, gloves and FF helmet. Now all I need is something to help take the wind off me a little and I should be good to go
I sure get a lot of looks when it is cold out from the cages
Thanks for the picture
they look much better than I thought they would
How tall is the windshield on your bike?
I believe its the compact size. I am 5'6" so wanted to see over it. The standard was a bit to high. Plus you can move the shield up and down the forks a bit.
When i get home I'll take a shot of my set up. I have a 2011 Wide Glide and I just installed 12" R6C apes and I have a detach Harley windshield I use when I ride to work. This morning there was no problem and it was the first time I rode with both the apes and the shield.
