Hey guys been riding and recent the speedo has been cutting out. The check engine light comes on and the backlight stays on but the needle freezes and the when I brake to stop it comes back. Anyone had that before?

I had the same issue right out of the showroom when I bought my bike now if I remember correctly it was the speed sensor on my bike

did you check for a loose cable?

Saw a very similar issue on a friend's sporty recently, dealer replaced the speed sensor, fixed the problem.

 

ya know, mine just started to do the same thing! i am thinking it is the speed sensor, i think it is right on top of the trans!

 

Taking out and cleaning the speed sensor helped on my bike....
