Does anyone know if the hardware for the Switchback bags could be used to make a set of full sized bags fit? And could they be made to slide in place from the FRONT? I wonder how many guys will put their stock bags on, not get them fastened properly, and take off only to have the bags stay behind?
Or a better question might be; How many dumbass guys have you SEEN riding Harleys? I don't KNOW any 'cause I try to stay away from that kind of guy, but I HAVE seen my share of 'em!
sorry I can't think up a smart *** answer to your question. I need to go to the liquor store we are out of beer.
If I had a set of the hardwareeverythng but the bag I could hang almost anything on there...
simple design that would lend itself to any application.
the plane in which they 3 docking spools lay is level plumb or whatever you want to call it.
the problem with big bags is the shape of the inside and the clearance for the shocks.
but I think I could mount any flat surface with the hardware.
I have already set my guitar case next to the parts and sussed it up.
I think it would take less than an hour to make my guitar case click right into place.
Switchback bags are 3/4 the size of the touring bikes so why bother. Just put on a trunk like Mrnone did.
I think that little lift you need to take the bags off is a safety in case you forget to lock them down and gravity is helping to hold them on. I don't know if any testing was done on that but I'm not volunteering.
I have the rest of my life to be a dumbass...I think I'll take today off.
Mrnone, Sounds like it would not be too hard of a job to put a full size set of bags on a FDL. Once the hardware becomes available, I guess we will see ALL kinds of stuff made to fit on the FDL!
