Seat, Bars, Highway pegs or forwards or a new bike! If those don't work, buy a cage.

A couple of thoughts ... First a backrest would be the smartest move whatever seat or bars you use. And second get into physical therapy right away!

Therapy will address your issues and teach you stretches and strengthening the muscles that are either weak and / or damaged and will help you the rest of your life to get back to enjoying riding.

Been there, done that.

FWIW I've found with my back injury that the big factor in back comfort while riding is handlebar height and reach, but different seats can move you up/down/forward/back to some degree. I tried a mustang vintage solo, comfy on my ***, but I couldn't ride much more than 45 minutes and it was really tweakin my back. The street bob solo has been great, I got lucky on that one.
