Default FLS Slim

Very tasty! Any color you want as long as it's either Black or Red, but that's ok.

I was very excited to see this bike too. Went to the local HD dealer today but was told not to touch it as it was sold.

Had a good look at it and was a bit underwhelmed. It looks nice but something just not right in my eyes - why buy this over a Fat Boy? The sales guy told me he had no idea when their next one was coming in but I could put my name down and they'd see - but it would cost me around $16,800. Didn't want to give me any information when I asked him what else could he tell me. He said the bike was so new they were still learning about it.

I seldom go to dealers any more. I am always left less than impressed. I must remind myself of this next time i get the urge to go and look at bikes.

I went to my local dealer to ask a question at parts, while there I looked at the new 72, then asked where the slim was, they said in service and took me over to look at it. They were aware I wasnt buying, just lookin...
It was in service cause the bike had a leaking gas tank. wonder if there is gunna be issues with others??
Guess time will tell.

I didn't like it from the pictures, but I saw one today for the first time. I really liked it. I think Harley finally got the bobber style right. The big thing for that visually is that the front and back wheel size match. As far as comparing it to the Fat Boy:

1. I like the abbreviated front fender better.

2. I like the abbreviated rear fender better.

3. I like the wheels having black hubs as well as rims. I never did like the silver hubs with black rims.

4. I don't dig disk wheels.

5. The console on the Slim is a cat eye style, similar to the 1940's models.

6. The handlebar style is from the 1940's.

7. The half moon floorboard style is from the 1940's.

8. I like the mix of black and chrome on the front end, but the Fat Boy on the floor had that too. I don't know if the Fat Boys have that stock now, or if the dealer did that.

I never thought I'd see a softail that I liked this much.

I got one too. Was yours from Cowboy or Central?

Central. May mosey over there next week, ostensibly for some exhaust gaskets, but may linger/ogle the FLS. A lot of the specs are very much like my Low Rider as far as measurements go.

I got the email from Central yesterday. Going by tomorrow to see it. I think it's a winner. First bike in a long time to make me want a test ride, but it's rainy in Austin. Hope someone posts impressions after riding.
