Default OEM Mirror replacements

Hello Troops! I know I read a similar thread elsewhere but for the life of me I have no memory where it was? Anyhow, I'm finding the stock mirrors that came with my bike give me a great view of my shoulders (exactly what the other guy had posted as well..LOL). Being 6ft2, I have to tuck my arms, elbows in to see what's behind me. I've browsed through the J&P Catalogue and the prices are from quite reasonable to way over the top.

I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion or a better place for me to look?

Thanks in advance.

You could find tons of them if you do a google.com search for motocycle mirrors or the like.

I know Ebay and Google would provide me with a wealth of options, but I figured I'd ask you all which would be better rather than through trial and error. Then again, I suppose what works for one may not work for the other.

I think that was me with the shoulder view comment, I am taking a look at the Ness' , although it's a little tough to get a real good feel via an online catalog ( as you know). If I pop for the Ness' I'll post what I like or don't about 'em

Great! Thanks Sbolt, I appreciate it. I wish some catalogues would list the length of their mirrors to give us a better idea how far out they'll reach.

I had to laugh at your comment about having a good look at your shoulders. It never occurred to me until I read your post that this was not an isolated problem. LOL

First off, let me thank you for your service to our country. [sm=americanasmiley.gif] Now to your question. If you like the OEM style mirrors, you can try the HD website. They make a few styles of OEM mirros with longer stems to raise the mirror so that you might not be "looking at your shoulders" all the time.

You can search by the family of bike you have (Dyna, Softail, etc.) and look under the mirrors category. You may also want to check a dealer out to see just how much higher the stems make the mirror heads.

Good luck in your search.

Gary

Thank You Gary and as a 1991 Gulf War veteran, I pass along my gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work your (U.S.) troops are doing in Iraq right now. I see quite a few u.S. soldiers who stop overnight here while coming and going to Iraq and I always make it a point to shake their hands and to thank them as a Canadian extremely annoyed we didn't send troops over on this Operation. Whether right or wrong, we as neighbours should've been there! At least we're in Afghanistan doing our part but it still stung many Canadian soldiers that our Prime Minister sat this one out.

Thanks for the info on the mirrors and I'll take a look at them for sure.

GWV.

I bought a pair of the kurkaykyn extended mirrors. Got them on ebay for seventy bucks. Put them on and I can see everything going on behind me now.
