I've got a problem
Need help. 2012 FXDC with detachable backrest and rack. We are getting ready for a trip to Georgia soon. We use a Large T-Bag on the backrest. Now "She who controls the purse strings" says we need saddlebags so we can put our 'personals' in one for each of us! I refuse to spend $400 and more for a set of bags that may get used twice a year. I tried a set of throw over bags that each bag zips on/off the yoke. They fit perfectly and I thought I had it made...until I tried to reinstall the backrest. No way it would go back on with these bags. I'm getting desperate now. Anyone know of a set of bags that have a very narrow yoke, and maybe the bags are removable, that won't cost me a fortune not to mention my sanity? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

May or may not be an option for you but I didn't like the look of the yoke, so I hard mounted mine. I like to see a little fender above my bags.

Here's what I'm using, from Nelson rigg. Not waterproof, w zippers on the top, but a trash bag can cure that. Put the yoke under the seat. they need no stand off to keep them stable, as the stiffness is built in. NelsonRigg also has cruiser bags, but I took mine off a Dual sport bike I sold and they fit the Dyna perfectly...Under $100.xx, too...tomp dd50

Thanks for the ideas. I guess I have to do some more research. I have an old set of Willie and Max bags I might try trimming the yoke. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
