Default Is there a different torque setting for taller risers?

So I switched out the stock risers on my 96 dyna wide glide to 10" fattys..I bought red poly bushings to take the squish out of the setup but now I get this crazy twist in the risers when i try to steer. feels pretty unsafe. my localish bike shop kinda steered me clear of solid bushings due to hand numbing. anyway how torque tight can I go? i don't wanna snap those bolts off.
bars are biltwell trackers if that matters right around 30" wide

I use my stock bushings on my 8" risers and torqued to the manual specs and no issues. Did you retorque after riding with them a bit?

With Poly you can tighten much more than stock as you don't get the squish effect, tighten them up till they feel right, you will feel more vibes through the bars, but that's just the nature of the beast.

I shouldn't twist, the poly bushings should feel more secure than the stock rubber ones, there should be very little play. I have 18" apes on my Dyna, with the stock rubber bushings they moved allot, with the poly bushings they are solid and responsive.

I used aluminum bushings. Highly recommended for any tall risers. With 10" risers you should use non-flexible bushings.

As skid lid said, put away the torque wrench and tighten them till they feel right for you. Your trees are not worn out.
