i know noises are hard to track down but here goes 09 fxdc noise sounds like its coming from primary upon hard high rpm acel (in neu rev it up and no noise) sounds like heat shield pinging or tinkin shifts fine no clutch slipping amsoil syn filled to correct level only happens when im really gettin on it when fluid changed 800 mi ago no metal on drain plug
sounds like pinging to me. I had the same thing on my electra glide. You been buying your gas at the same place?
i was wondering if that could be it also since it does not make the noise when its not under a load or sitting still since the chain is always spinning i would think if something was wrong in the primary it would make noise all the time i always put shell 93 octane in her put new plugs in over the winter (maybe gapped wrong?) also added those chrome covers over the plugs (maybe cuasing excessive heat on the plug?) besides checking my plugs should i add octane booster to see if that remedies it

it might not be coming from the primary but it sure is coming from that side of bike kinda hard to tell were the noise is coming from when im ridin down the road
friend of mine with an 08 had a similar noise, at idle it was there under load
it would disappear pulled it apart and found the primary chain sprocket bolt
had loosened up.
retorqued to specs and all is good. only cost the price of a gasket to check it out
