Default New WG Setup

I just ordered my FIRST Harley!! Very excited and very broke now, haha. Anyways, it's a '12, vivid black WG, and I am putting a stage 1 (V&H big radius, heavy breather, and HD race tuner) straight outta the door. It appears people have mixed feelings on doing this, as well as the best way to "properly" break the engine in. Anybody else just get a bike similar to mine? I would love to hear what worked for you and what you have done to customize it. Once my bike gets here, I am going to put chrome on the engine (black engine covers for sale soon!!), hog tunes on the bars, getting a custom seat built off stock base (I'm 6'2") that keeps the slim look of the WG (but debated a mustang day tripper delux- anyone using this seat w/ a WG??), forward controls +3" (any idea on nice chrome ones that aren't $1k??!!), LED driving lights and lowpro tail (gotta be seen), and a kuryakin hornet (accessory that keeps deer away- anyone know if these work for real??). Please share any other ideas and let me know if you are selling an inexpensive but solid lift. Thanks!!
Oh yeah, demon cycles has really nice prices, but is their merchandise legit??

Congrats on the new bike and I would have to say I agree with your choice!

I bought mine with the BR and SE AC and they downloaded a map to use until the 1k mark. I think the bike ran like ****, I think it even ran worse than I originally thought now that the bike has been tuned.

I never had the bike over 3500 rpm's or over 65 mph (never saw 6th gear) and varied speed all the way up to 1k even though it does't specifically say that in the OM but like I said to me it ran like ****.

Congrats, I would recommend the kuryakyn 3" forward control extension kit.. works well, looks pretty good and only costs like 150 bucks

Congrats on your choice. I absolutely LOVE my 2011 WG. After I got my bike, I bought the Vance and Hines big radius 2 into 2, Roland Sands air breather and had my dealer do the DLD Download. I am EXTREMELY Pleased with it. Below is a video of some of my mods....

Thanks for the welcome!! Pontiac, I was curious who you got your apes through? I am looking at some 14'' through buky bars. I think the malo style. not cheap but look really nice. ACR, you are saying your bike ran like **** b/c you didn't add a tuner chip until after the 1k service? why did you wait to add after the stage 1?
