Hey all, just got my first harley,98 dyna convertible.Its got 28K on it.Have some questions.....
Fixing to makle a 2000 mile round trip and was going to ride the bike.What are some of the things to check on it and IS the bike capable of making that kinda trip?

Nice bike. Your trip should not be a problem at all. LOL, yes they ALL shake to some degree but you will still run into a few that dont think that ....
Only reason I have never owned one till now is that the stories I heard..."ride it and parts fall off!" Just always had that fear... Guy I bought it from says its not like that at all...so i hope he wasnt telling me a saleman story...LMAO!
I guess I'll take it down to the local stealership and have them check things out for me...

If you go to the dealership & happen to drop your wallet, I'd kick it out the door into the parking lot (maybe across the street) before bending over to pick it up. Look for a reliable indy to check it out.
Welcome and congrats. +1 on the indy and avoid the dealer. Before you ride have all critical fasteners,tires,spokes,plugs,wires,fluids and brakes checked. I am sure other posters will help with more.
thanks fells for the advice....Guy said he just put NEW motor mount on it, that it would calm down some, just what he told me. Whats an indy? Another shop other than the stealership?...LOL
