Default Electrical question

I am installing a set of softtail Aux lights and Bar and will use the B+ terminal under the seat for power (as per the HD destructions), but I have to make my own harness as I cant purchase the Aux harness here separate from the Dyna or Softail kits.

Does anyone know if the unused B+ power terminal under the seat is Fused or not, if so, which fuse and rating is it. Cant find the info in my service manual or inside the fuse cover so I am assuming it is unfused.

If not fused, is it possible to use one of the spare fuse locations in the fuse box?

Look at the wiring diagrams in the back of your service manual.

I just finished installing Aux lights on my '03, and relocated the TSs to hang below the Aux lights. I used a push-button switch to control the Aux lights. Installed relay for separate power source from Battery. Intended going the fuse-box route, but decided fused-lead off battery was a better way to go then trying to deal with the short wires at the fuse box.

Been thinking of adding some LED driving lights, mounted on HD stalks. And I like the better visibility of the turn signals, up high, on the stock mounts, though I had to mask off small segments of the bezels where they shone in my eyes. The HD system doesn't lend itself to DIY add-ons, w/ their fiddly pin-connectors. When I hooked up power for GPS, heated gear and Battery Tender it was easier to just go directly to battery w/ an inline fuse holder (which tucks into space between battery and box). It's easier and quicker to access these fuses than if I had to remove the seat.

Haven't decided on what switch or where to mount it.

If that wire comes on the bike from the factory, it is shown on the wiring diagram.

If you are refering to the 4 pin "Customer Accessory Connector", it is fused at 15A. Fuse is labeled CUST ASSY-15A.
Pin 1 & 3 is 12V when key is on
Pin 2 is 12V when brakelights are on
Pin 4 is ground

In the main harness wiring diagram this connector is called "P & A Battery". It is NOT fused!

As posted previously: best way to connect the relay is directly to the battery + pole using an inline 15-20 Amp fuse.

my wiring currently is as per the diag, minus the fuse at this time. Will put it in asap.

As an option...Kury makes a nice Aux lighting harness with chrome handlebar pushbutton. Link here for details: http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/399...ring-Relay-Kit
