So right now im looking at the RSD vintages apes and cant decide on the 16 or the 19 inch ones. Im 6'0 and im looking to bring the bars up on my 2012 wide glide. And what wire and cable kit have you guys used. would it be a better idea to go with the 19's and if they are to tall get shorter risers? ive never done bars on a bike so this is all new to me. thanks for the help.
I just put 14s on my streetbob im 6ft2in and there perfect prolly about inch above my.shoulders depending on which.seat i ryde, i put 14in burley kit and 1.7 in rises cables are good length call and.ask what they suggest good luck !
I put 13 in carlini gangsters on mine. With the 1 in risers from carlini, over all rise is about 16.5. Im 5'11 and there just a tad over my shoulders. Went with magnun shielding plus 12 kit for mine. My upperbrake cable was a bit long but we were able to tuck it behind the headlight
I ride with 16s and had the pleasure of riding a buds softail with 18s the other day. I'm 6'1. 18 felt too tall. 16s fit me perfect. Your opinion may vary.
Hey I can't help between the 16 and 19. I just got done putting the 16" rsd on my 06 street bob. And I got the 1.5" rsd risers. I didn't have to extend the wires and for cables I went with magnum shielding. I went with +4" over stock length on all cables and for the throttle cables I did 70 degree angle and everything came out perfect.
One other thing I got the black rsd bars and when they came they would not fit in the risers because the powder coat was about 3 times as thick as it was supposed to be I looked around online and it didn't seem to be a normal issue but others had run into it too. I called to exchange and they were on back order so I just paid to have them stripped and power coated here in town. With all that said I'm very happy with the bars even though they cost me an extra $60 to have them powder coated correctly. Hope this helps some.
