Default Dobeck EFI Controller

Has anyone used the Dobeck EFI Controller on their Dyna?
I'm thinking about getting one. Let me know what you think.

I'm running one on my 2010 FXDC with Rush slip on's & a Ness BS. If all you want to do is add a bit fuel, and don't plan any more engine mods (cams, etc.) I should do you just fine. I added mine to get rid of a nasty decel pop, plus it does run stronger & cooler.

Dobeck was the founder of Dynojet. He knows his stuff. I had one on my 07 SB. It worked great. The adjustment pots are REAL sensitive and basically just breathe hard on the pot and the fuel adjusts. These things will work with motor upgrades too. They're not just an entry level tuner.

Thanks for all your input. How does it effect your MPG? Can you tweek it enough to still get good mileage? One of the things I like about having a relatively stock bike is consistantly getting 48 to 52 MPG. I understand that with more fuel your MPG will decrease and I'm willing sacrifice a little but... FuelMoto claims they can map the PCV to keep the bike on the lean side when just crusing and still manage more power when you nail the throttle. Can this be done with the Dobeck?

I had one ... it was a pretty good unit, but I replaced it with a ThunderMax after about 15,000 miles ...

Expect your mileage to go down some ... for the most part you will be adding fuel across the RPM band ... meaning your AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) will go down from the factory (quite lean) settings ... I'd expect your MPG to go down by around 10% ... maybe a little more ...

I got one on mine also. Never had any problems with it, cured 99% of the decel popping. My fuel mileage went down a little bit, but not bad at all.

Why wouldn't you go with the PCV for 50 bucks more? The TFI just adds fuel. You get a lot more bang from the PC.

Wow, I just found a pic of the head temperature I took back when I tried the XIEDs, and since getting rid of those, and getting the Dobeck TFI, I lowered my head temps by 100 degrees, and the oil by 20. Might even be better than that, since XIED temps were taken at about 70 degree outside air temp, and the Dobeck temps were taken at 95 degree outside air temp.
I still get 40 MPG.
