Default When it rains....FML

The past week has sucked. After returning from a 3 week trip, courtesy of the Army, I arrived home to find the springs I had ordered were in fact for a Street Glide, two weeks longer to get that fixed. My new bars and riser were here from Forbidden Motorcycles so I thought I would throw those on. After two hours of trying to run the wires through I got a call from Wheelieking and got it done. In the process I snapped a terminal pin. I swapped it out today and thought I was set. Fuel pump wouldn't kick on and nothing from the right hand switches. Thinking it had to be the pin I replaced I messed with it for and hour before I checked the other connector and found out I had two wires switched on the other side. So the bike starts and I ride down the road. The bars seem off so I loosen the up and realize they're off because I stripped the threads in one the risers. I call Jimmy at Forbidden and he tells me to run through it with a tap and if I'm not comfortable with it he'll send me a new one free of charge. That's pretty good customer service when someone calls and tells you they're an idiot and they offer to fix it for free. DK Customs did that for me too a while back. So in short, 3 hours of work has turned into three days of stress.

thats kinda how my old ironhead was. it sat for so long that when i tried to take certain part off, bolt/studs/nuts would strip out. at one point i ended up cutting the studs for the front caliper so that i could change the pads. it can be very stressful sometimes.....

That sucks man. I was going to PM you about that fender but figured you were busy...it seems I was right. I'm sure it will get better though from here on out.

Yeah it could be much worse. I'm building a house right now and that's been a nightmare. Wrenching on the bike and riding, when I finally get it done, will help out. Things always seem to work out the way they should, even when it seems like everything is falling apart. The thought of being homeless at the end of the month is much worse than anything with the bike.
