Electric problem
For about a year now my lights have been dimming while riding. I had a local shop look at it and my battery light and engine light is now on. I just replaced the voltage regulator and same lights are still on but now my starter is making a noise. The battery has been on a trickle charger for about a week. Any ideas before going to the deallership?

Start checking all your ground connections,i.e. battery grounds to chassis and to starter. You didn't mention age/year of bike, could be corrosion on some of those connections. If all that checks good, time to do a stator diagnostics.
