Default Stator/Alternator question

Hi,
I'm usually in the touring section but have been working on son-in-laws 2006 Dyna low and have a question please.
Charging system giving some grief and checked everything out yesterday and was only getting ~10 volts AC from the stator. Everything I read said this was about half of what it should be.
Removed the stator and looked up the part number and it shows as 300017-01A. The stators I see on eBay though have part number 30017-01 (no 'A' suffix).
Does anyone know the difference between the two part numbers?
Any help/advice much appreciated.

Thanks and ride safe!

Here's some reading for you. Lots of problems with the 06 stator so I guess you're looking at the updated part number

If it's a Harley part number, then the "A" denotes an upgrade.
