I went ahead and ground down the rubber hump on the mount and also put in 2 washers for shim. TOTALLY eliminated the vibrations I was having and it's smooth as silk now. I couldn't shift to 4th below 50mph, 5th until about 63mph and 6th until about 78mph or else it felt like I was lugging it and going to bounce off the bike. VERY happy I found this thread and links to the solution. Thanks fellas.

Hey man, don't let the cliques get to you. If you had been part of the clique, some of these folks would have been up your *** threatening to go to the dealership with you until they gave you a new bike. First, never trust the dealer. Second, never pay for an extra warrenty. Third, don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. If you are a real deal mechanic, you should be able to appreciate this advice. Back in the day, if you didn't wrench, you didn't ride. Let's break this down. It's a frame, with a motor inside. Is the motor smooth running or rough? How is the vibration being transfered? I don't like anything about the MoCo, but I love Harleys so you do what you gotta do. One of the things that bit you in the *** was threatening to dump HD for a metric-bad juju. If it makes you feel any better, my 2011 SGC also has a vibration. It doesn't bother me as much, because I don't have time to bother with it now, but alot of things can come into play....exhaust, running lean, bad ignition program, motor mount. Make sure you post what they found because it can help others.

Just got her back. They claim the tire pressure was off. I had it set to what they told me 34 front and 40 rear. That's the way I got it back. I'm done with this warranty garbage. Telling them that they didn't look over my bike did me no good. Telling them that the tire pressure was at 34/40 when I dropped it off did no good, they told me it was low. I even showed them timestamped pics of me checking the pressure in front of the service entrance.

I'm tired of the MoCo and their useless mechanics. I like my bike so I guess I'm going to have to just get into it myself. Maybe a full teardown this winter and upgrade/replace anything I don't like. Sorry there was no answer with a fix to go with it.

Lol you took the time to take pictures of yourself checking your tire pressure?

It honestly seems you're looking for reasons to complain. Save yourself the headache and do the work yourself man.

While the bike is apart upgrade and replace things...that's what this **** is all about. My wallet hated the phrase "well, since I have this apart I might as well..."

NO offense to any good mechanics that work at a dealership, but the day I bought my bike, as I was waiting for the prep stuff (whatever it was) to get completed I watched a couple of their techs work. After about 15 mins of this show I decided I would never let them touch my bike unless it was absolutely required.

Honestly, I think it is just mechanics in general that have gone down hill. I have an f150 and two dealerships claimed for a month or so that nothing was wrong with my truck, even though gas in the oil was easily seen and smelled. There was a slight hesitation from time to time. I was pretty sure it was an injector, but, being the injectors were under warranty there was no way in hell I was going to take my time and spend my money replacing them. I just did not drive it much. Finally, the injector stuck open while I was on the interstate and I had to get it towed in. They agreed something was wrong, finally. I am convinced most mechanics are sensor changers and code readers. If the codes are not there or a scan does not point out the exact area of the problem they are just lost. No troubleshooting skills at all.

You would think that if the MoCo's reps read these type of threads ( I'm sure they do...) and report back to corporate HG on the level of discontent with Dealer support, there would be some push to increase customer satisfaction with the product . Every forum I visit has people bitching about crappy dealer experiences at a ratio of at least 5 to 1.

Anyroad, know a wrench at the local Indy, told me about quick fix for sagging front engine mount ( at yer own risk, I ain't tried it...). Get the bike level, put bottle jack with small piece of wood between jack and mount, directly under front mount. Jack it up slightly- don't lift the bike! You just want to put a little pressure on the mount... not fatigue/stress the metal.

I took the time because I'm sick of hearing that excuse. If I were looking for reasons to complain, I would have come up with some other issue by now wouldn't I? I just want my damn bike fixed right.

all i'm saying man is stop banging your head against the wall.

at this point it looks like you're not getting the help you seek from the dealers.

a lot of good suggestions made here, just start going over the bike with a fine toothed comb and get it handled.

You're right. That's the point I've come to. Now if it would cool down minus the heavy storms I could start getting it sorted out.
