I have a 2006 Dyna street bob, I recently moved my mid controls forward and I am now realizing it may have been a mistake. I am not able to but a engine guard with highway pegs because of this and also not able to put floorboards. I even looked into installing mid pegs just so I can have a change of leg position on long trips. I was told by Harley that is not possible either. I guess the way the forward controls are placed there is a bar that is in the way of installing mid pegs. Other than custom work does anyone have any ideas for me?
I put forwards on my 02 FXD and left the mid pegs intact. For mid peg clearance, I did have to put a couple of slight bends in the brake rod but it was simple and easy. It can be done.
I appreciate all ur responses. Because I am not at all handy I have to find someone who can take care of the break rod for me.
Is the engine guard a Harley part or after market? I hate that Harley says everything is impossible with my bike.
I have seen an arm that extends out from where you would bolt on the crash bar to give you a spot to put your feet up without the whole bar, people who use extended controls and kits to move boards forward use them,
I think Harley makes them as the ones I saw matched the Harley stock bars and pedals on the Road King I was looking at, anyway for your model they may have a similar if not the same item available.
also after market bars and extended reach kits for pegs usually have a solution.
Almost anything you can run into has been thought of and put out by someone, just have to search to find it.
I find at a bike rally where you can see a few thousand bikes is the best way to get these ideas and find products you didnt know were out there.
I will look to see if I can find a pic of the ones I am thinking of that might work for you.
