That happened to me this past summer too during Sturgis, by another rider of all people, who thought that he would stop in my lane when I was doing 40-45 mph.
Rear end started going sideways and I said F-that, and let off of the brakes before they completely locked.
In doing that the bike immediately snapped out of it and straightened out giving me 6 inches to miss the A hole that was so determined to stop right in my lane on a Hwy.

Glad you're alright..

Glad your OK, I laid mine down at 25 MPH on Sept. 3. Dislocated my thumb, some scrapes and bruises. $10,000 to repair my bike. Insurance is covering it. Hitting the pavement even at low speed hurts.

Always bad to hear about people dumping... always good to hear people walking away. Now go buy a lotto ticket.. Glad you're okay for you and your family.

Sucks to hear about your misfortune BUT Good to hear you were able to get up and walk away. I've said it many times (in responses to posts very similar to yours) BUT you never know when you put that helmet on (if you choose) WHAT you are going to encounter. A lot of crazy drivers and other crap out there and you have got to be on your "A" game. Good luck with everything and as always....Ride safe.
