Ok, I think I've had enough of the open road feeling and the kamikaze bugs at 60mph. Which windshield do you recommend for a Dyna Wide Gide? I've been doing my research and I see there are many choices. What style, height, etc. do you like? Thanks..
Definitely go with the HD Sport Windshield w/quick clamps. Looks very good. It's a little tall if you only ride solo. But it would really look cool if you cut it down a couple of inches. I ride 2-up alot. So I can't cut it down.
I have the same windshield for my Super Glide as FXDWG12 does on his WG. I have had the regular compact windshield before, and I like this one better. I think it has less buffeting and looks much better. This is the 19 inch version, but you can get it in a 16 inch version as well.
I only put mine on in colder weather, but that's just me. It does make a huge difference in keeping the wind off your face, chest, and even your hands. It serves it's purpose, and goes on and off in a couple minutes.
I tried to upload a couple pics with it on my bike, but they are too large..

Sure it's personal prefrance. I like the Sport because it doesn't have all that chrome banding that distract your view of the bike. I havn't noticed any buffeting?
I loved riding with the windshield on my buddy's Fatboy, so when I got my Dyna I picked up an HD one. The buffeting was pretty bad, so I bought some lowers from Memphis Shades. In this pic, the bike is set up with sissy bar and back seat for the wife, and I'd not test ridden it yet. The fork lowers hit the lower deflector clamps, so they'd have to go higher than they are in this pic.
Even with all that deflection, I STILL had buffeting. It wasn't terrible, but it was enough that I took all this crap off again.
