Default air cleaner
I own a 2003 superglide sport(fxdx) I put vance and hines short shots and rejetted the carb.I need to know ifI change the air cleanerwill I have to rejet again. I need some more sites to find a 6 or 7 inch cleaner.

I would't have thought that you would need a re-jet with just the exhaust change. What did you change/adjust in the carb ??

Next to the pipes, a air cleaner upgrade is a better boost than rejetting the carb on an 88.

Even after adding stage 1 air cleaner, you should have a noticable improvement. Without going to 95" - you shouldn't need another rejet, are you running a little/lot rich now?

Then adding a air cleaner kit upgrade shouldn't call for a re-jet.

Adding more air will lean it out a bit and it should run just fine.

After you install the aftermarket air cleaner, warm up and test ride the bike. If the bike pops / backfires during deceleration you'rerunning too lean andneed a rejet. If not, you're probably OK.

it sounds like increasing the air intake will put the bike back where it needs to be
