In my search for new handlebars on my '11 Street Bob, I came across some copper plated apes. I tried to search all around to find a bike that might have some handlebars like that to see what they would look like on a bike. Wondering if anyone out there has seen a bike with copper plated handlebars or have put on some like that on their bike. Let's hear your thoughts. Thank you.
Copper Mike at Graves End Cycles uses a lot of copper items on his bikes. I've seen a couple at different shows. Know at least one of them had copper plated apes.
I've seen copper plating done one time on some bike parts but there is a trick to it though. To keep it a bright copper finish you have to get the parts clear coated ASAP after the copper plating is done or else it will tarnish and look like crap, unless that's the look you're after of course, then never mind, lol. But these parts had a bright copper finish with clear coat over them right away and they looked awsome!
