Flat black with flames in orange red and yellow with blue pin striping. That is my choice for old school. Scallops are really nice too and you don't see them nearly as often but it is your bike. Keep the flames simple. Nothing tribal.
The more I think about it the more I realize how many choices you have. Maybe another color for the flames would be cool. I am really of no help here at all.
Robert, I'm right around the corner from you on Owensmouth... Can you recommend anyone in the area that does good work (painting) for a decent price?
Can;t go wrong with a good set of flames. Just my opinion, but those shadows are too dark on the orange bike. I do airbrushing on the side, here's the hood of my truck.
The shadows on that orange bike are perfect. Not to sound like a dick, but I would take the flames on the bike over the flames on that truck any day.....if I wanted flames on my bike.
I have an 07 streetbob. Cutting front and rear fenders along with doing a lot of black powder coating. Want to do some old school 50's style flames on just the tank. Thinking of doing yellow to orange to red transition, but not full length of tank. Spent way too many hours on the web looking at flames, that now I can,t make up my mind and style. Any opinions out there? Even some pics would be cool.

I just sent my tins to him.. his works and ideas for flames are very very cool !
The clean bars and lack of cables are what make it.
that was on my mod list this winter but scrapped the idea because i didn't wanna hassle with running the brake and throttle cables through 2 90* bends in my bars
