Default dyna or road king?

I've had my Superglide for two years now. Iuse it mainly for evening rides of 25-30 miles, with a solo tour of 2,000+ miles each summer. No complaints at all, except thatriding two-up with my wife is a little confining. That's not that big an issue, sinceshe doesn't ridethat often. But I'm getting the itchfor a Road King or Electraglide.I'd like to hear from riders who have experience with both. Anybody regretted movingup? Thanks.

Tried a RK and found it cramped for my size (6'3"/35" inseam) bit of a Shrineresque riding position, IMHO. of course.

Why not rent and compare - take the wife along. When you get home she will have the decision made for you ;-)

Good Luck!

i had a 2 dynas, then bought an eglide, traded to softail...now i'm back on a dyna. (and a few other bikes mixed in just for fun...hd and others)

Dyna's my favorite hd

i grew bored of the eglide...your limitedto the amount of changes you can makedue to the fact that the fairing isn't removable (you wouldn't have that problem with a rk)
I didn't like the 88b motor on the softail.
I like the ride of the dyna, the motor is way better imo. (no vibes on the hwy and no buzzing) and the dyna handles better than the softail.
If I ever had to change bikes i'd go back to the touring family but stay away from the ST lineup...my .02

I have both a Super Glide and a Road King as well as a Road Glide. I find the Super Glide to be an excellent one up short trip bike. Short trips would be under 1,000 miles. My Road King is an awesome bike. It has gone from PA to Fla, Myrtle Beach and Sturgis. The end of the ride fatigue is minimal on the RK but the Super Glide I find myself a bit my drained. They are different bikes with their own personality. There are folks that I ride with that would never ride anything but the Super Glide, Wide Glide or other Dynas. It really comes down to personal preference. You can use the RK as a bar hopper as well. Take off the Windshield and you are good to go (unless you have the Road Tech Radio). By the way, I am talking about the RK classic not the custom. I do not like the custom but again that is a very personal preference. If you can afford it keep the Dyna and get the RK for touring. If you get a RK put on Rienharts true duals (I am sure I did not spell that right - but if you put these on your HP will be increased - you will need to add the HD race tuner to properly tune the ECM for these pipes).

It really comes down to one simple question. Do you want a bagger or a bobber? IF you want a bagger, go with the Road King. If you want a bobber, go with the dyna glide.
