I have a 2009 dyna superglide custom. Its has vans and hines straights on it with the efi chip. I just purchased the hypercharger for my bike. I was wondering if it would cause any problems with my bike if I didn't do a dyno test on it after I installed it. I've heard that it would be fine since it already has the chip. But then again I've also heard that it could cause over heating with the motor. Please help.
Personally I like the HC. When I bought my bike I swore I was gonna get rid of it, but you'd be surprised at how many compliments I get on it, and I do love the butterflies opening up. Keep in mind tho, my bike is a '96 and the HC is a very dated looking air cleaner. While it "fits" my bike, it may not fit yours. My FIL has one too on his '91 Softie.
The HC isn't going to do much for you for performance, but I'd speculate it's better than stock. It's in no way a ram air setup, since the whole underside is open. The important thing is if YOU like it, then YOU keep it since it's YOUR bike. Do what makes you happy.

It won't cause overheating or any other problems. Not the greatest performing air cleaner but its better then stock.
Its not really a "bad" air cleaner, its just that they have been known to fall to bits, the chrome peel off and those flaps don't actually do anything. So, you might get a few snotty looks from other Harley riders but if it floats your boat then stick with it.

Hyper chargers look cool ,there is no doubt about it!!! But in all honesty, they really are not the best. I have had one on bikes in the past and I had many issues with them, I finally saved my money and went with S&S dual air intake, looks bad *** and wow!!! really added to the performance of the sporty I had. I hope all works out for you. I love the looks of them.
This is the only air filter that ever causes any differences of opinion on here, most people hate them while others don't have a problem with them, I ran one for around 6 years wether it increased the power or not I don't know, probably better than the Harley football the bike came with, but eventually the rubber hoses split and I was always cleaning rust off the back fixings so I sold it and got an S&S teardrop air filter which I think is a lot better, as has been said I'd take it back if you can and swop it for something else.
