Dang I want A dyna so bad, but I want one with the old frame,
befor Harley put the pasenger feet pegs on the swing arm.
What was the last year for that frame, and which of the dynas
had the shortist rake? I want to build the drean I dreamed just
as soon as my RKC is paid off in april 2014. I think I want to start
a fxpd "dyna defender" but I am not sure.
Any 05 was the last year of the old frame and swingarm. '06 changed swingarm style, some frame changes, rake is about the same, 49mm "mid glide" front end from the old 39mm narrow glide, went to 17" rear wheel with wider tire offerings, 6 speed trans, different style primary, no more carb option. Think I got everything.
This is not true. The fxd, fxdc and fxdx have the same 28 degree rake. The wide glide and low rider are 32. 06 and newer are all 29 other than the wide glide's 34.

Your rake numbers are frame only, Wide Glides have 2 degrees in the trees as well.
I just got a 05 super glide for the same reason you are wanting.
It only had SE mufflers, windscreen, and stage 1 done. With 11,700 miles on it.
I changed the windscreen to a slipscreen tombstone. It has the vintage look to it, same thing that is on our wide glide, see signature.
Not sure what visual changes I will make but the engine should be a tire smoker for sure, 113 with all the trimmings.
