I ran program as per video. This is the difference.
After writing module map settings it says to clear learned fuel adjustments which I did. And clear learned idle control adjustments but screen appeared and said program fault.
I went through and fired up second time and initialized IAC auto. It ran through and completed at eng temp at 275 degrees. All good & engine stable.
I turned off eng left ign switch on, click monitor it shuts down and then clicking LINK ( fault---- no module link found) do I have to go through this again?

Thanks for the help

You have to leave ignition on to link the module because of the way the ECM works on your bike. I would just plug it in clear everything in the map with the closest mods to yours load it then clear learned fuel adjustments and in the iac then go for a ride. 200 miles or so run the auto tune function. The VINErr code you go into modules settin enter the vin number it will do this everyone you disconnect your battery so save your map to your computer once you run AT

What he said. Ignition switch has to be on and the Run switch in the run position to monitor.

Since you have Initialized system and run the IAC auto calibration; the next time you start the bike let it idle until the engine is completely warmed up. The ECM will continue to learn and refine IAC offsets. PSI is spot on, ride 200 miles or more and let the TM do its thing. Then run the AUTO Map function to write the learned offset to the ECM.

Yes ign switch and run switch on.
For the comment I had on VIN ERROR, for the record was not the TM. It was the new HD speedometer tach combo. A different problem and forgot to plug it into TM com link after removing OEM tach
Ok I will do exactly as you described and let the TM calibrate. You obviusly run one. Did you fine tune---- lower idle rpm? Thanks for the help

I actually raised my idle RPM (Personal preference). Easy to do though. Go into the TMax Control Center / Basic Module Settings / Idle RPM and adjust. Don't adjust the idle rpm down more than 100rpm at a time. The ECM needs to stabilize the AFR/IAC after each adjustment before you go lower

Regardless of what you set the RPM, It will idle high until the engine reaches 160-180 deg.

Yeah I lowered my idle to 800 but it was at 740 go a minute. There is so much to learn with thundermax I just run the autotune every so often after I have done a majority of different speeds rpm and trips short and long. I think I'll start messing with the AFR soon I have a small decel pop at 2200 rpm other than that it's been great and my auto tuner learn offsets have all been within a a reasonable amount nothing crazy yet.

I just installed a TM on my 2013 Street Bob. How low an RPM can you go without issues? It's currently set at about 640rpm. Almost half of what the stock ECM does.

Too low, move it up about 300.

According to the Dyna Street Bob service manual, idle rpm should be 1000 plus/minus 50. I set the rpm to 960. It was fun while it was at 640rpm. Potato-potato heart beat.

The XL1200CB Sportster service manual didn't specify an idling rpm. Says not adjustable. For lack of a reference, I also set it at 960rpm.
