Default Switchback - Cat?

Does the Switchback have a cat? Looking at the photos, it appears to. If so, does anyone with one have the same heat issues the touring bikes have with their cat'd exhaust?

Any insight appreciated.

The cat is in the header. It has some heat I guess, but nothing worth all the trouble of removing it.

Thanks. A friend is buying one and considering his options. The heat from the cat on my 96ci Road Glide was unbearable. In fact, damn near everyone I know with a cat-equipped touring bike yanked it in some fashion or another. It's interesting that a 103 isn't hot. Maybe the MoCo doesn't turn them out as lean these days.

It's worth noting that I am in Virginia and you are in Texas. You guys are a hell of a lot hotter come summer.

He's in Chicago. Just trying to give him the best advice. Appreciate the input.

They let you ride that bike in Virginia?

The Switchback in stock form does get a little warm, but I wouldn't say it's unbearable.

I live in the Chicago area and the cat can be unbearable when it's REALLY hot, like 95 degrees or higher. Other than that, it keeps me warm when it's 50 degrees like today.

I live in Palatine too and own a Switchback. We could start our own club!
