we perform this surgery on header pipes in the shop pretty often, no idea what HD was thinking... my dad just bought a 2013 ultra and he rode it over by the time he got to the house he thought somehting was wrong with the bike with how hot it was... this was last month when it was cold out! we have a new header in the shop now for him that we are gutting. if i had any bike with a cat i would gut it first thing... much better flow, cooler motor, and you have much more tuning options
