Just picked up a Switchback for the wife. I'm looking to put an engine guard and hard lowers on it. Has anyone tried putting the touring lowers on a Dyna engine guard before?
I'm not sure if the engine guard really do anything . But it can't hurt. My friend dropped hers on a dirt road right in front of me. $3800.00 in damage. Cracked the hard bag, bad. Scratched the mirror,windshield,f.fender. Ouche.
check signature.....OEM guard with lowers of off of a 95 ultra here...
require some trimming but they work great, bare in mind though this bike
runs HOT!!!
so plan on removing them in the warmer months or prepare to roast..

Thanks. Was the trimming that hard to do? My wife really wanted a touring bike, but just couldn't handle the weight. I'm doing my best to make this work for her. I think she'll want a fairing next...

Bike looks great! I really like the Switchback.
I ran the memphis shades batwing fairing for awhile along with the engine guard. I made my superglide custom a mini bagger. Ive taken them off lately and may be interested in selling them. Attached is a picture. Let me know if you are interested and ill get better pictures/information to you.
Engine guard Part Number 49320-09
Memphis Shade Batwing PN: 2330-0017 (w/windshield and lowers and painted HD Scaret Red, would have to buy different mouting hardware)

yeah that was my problem, small of stature ( i admit it) and after riding a street glide i didn't like that extra weight at parking lot speeds.. so glad the switchback came out and then i could turn it in to what i wanted..
the trimming was easy with a dremel as i used the diamond cut off wheels that harbor freight sells for like $3.99 a 5 pack, only needed one and it worked great..... go to this thread for a photo of the cuts i made with measurements https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ob-2011-a.html
the memphis shades works great and sounds great with the added hogtunes MSA-1..
