Actually two questions:
1- What are the differences between a Low Rider and Super Glide?

2- Why did HD retire the FXDL?

low rider
1-black and chrome motor
2-32 degree neck
3-speedo and tach on the tank
4-1 inch lower riding height

superglide
1-grey motor
2-28 degree neck
3-speedo mounted on bar top clamp
4-sits higher off the ground

The Low Rider also comes stock with a coil cover.

The older low riders have dual discs up front.

Low riders typically have more chrome as well. And Different bars with indicators in risers.

In addidion to what's been mentioned, 06 and up:
Low rider has black and polished mags
Low Rider has pullback risers, buckhorn bars and indicators mounted in handlebar clamp.
two up seat
rear shocks are different

Yep mid glide front end on lowrider. Same as superglide and street bob.
