I am asking this for a friend. He has a 2012 Wide Glide. Has 10k on it. Just had new cams put in at dealer....a good reputable one too. Bike runs like a scalded dog, idles correctly, runs smooth at all speeds and sounds great. It has the race tuner, a/c & was dyno tuned. Question....smells rich (exhaust) and gets crappy mileage. He wants to know if this is normal. He had it back from dealer about a week. Just curious if he should give it some time...or take back to dealer?

Thanks,

Time won't change anything. a tuned bike should get great power and mileage. Was it like that from the get go, or did something happen?

I agree with Maddghost, it should get good mileage. I just had mine upgraded to the 103 with SE 204 cams. Took it on a 130 mile trip and got 46.5 mpg. And no kidding that is as good a mileage as I have ever got on the bike.

Mileage on a stage 2 bike can vary a lot depending on the riding style.

I can get mid-40's if I cruise and stay out of it.

I get mid-30's when riding hard.

I got a ticket this morning, I hope to get mileage in the mid-40's more often!

Sounds like the tune is off. If I ride normal I get 46-50 mpg all the time.
