Are all the dyna frames the same?
I've only got 9 more payments to go on my RKC
and I'm thinking about building me a switch back.
I'd like to build a switch back out of a super glide
custom or I'd like to build a super glide custom
out of a switch back. What I'm seeing in my mind
is a switch back w/o bags and super glide custom
exhaust and a heritage front end. One last question
on a switch back what are the passengers feet
boards/ pegs mounted ,the frame or the swing arm?
I'm wanting this bike for only my personal pleasure,
if I want to please my wife we'll take the RKC.
If I am not mistaken, the only Dyna frame that is different is the FXDWG Wideglide. It has a 36 degree rake instead of the 30 that is common with the Superglide or Switchback. Not real sure about the Bob's but they look the same. As you can see I prefer the rake. The passenger pegs are on the frame.
why a switchback? Get a superglide or fat bob. It will be cheeper and look better.
Lets switch rides for the day and you can get a real good feel for the dyna and me for the king.
I had a 2000 Dyna Wide Glide and I was trying to make it look like a touring bike. I lost it to a wreck and I bought a RKC in 07 and I'll be danged If I haven't tried to turn it into a Dyna however the next time I ride down to your part of the world maybe we could grab a burger a glass of tea and shoot the breeze for a bit.
I would find a Insurance totaled Street Bob or Super Glide and experiment to your hearts content. My sig pic is a 2008 Street Bob (insurance total) turned into a 1960 Duo Glide replica. There is also the FL-Dyna Social Group with hundreds of posts on turning a Dyna into what it sounds like that you want.
