Every time I post a picture on this site, they come out in little tabs that you have to open. I see these big beautiful pics that you guys are posting and I'm jealous. What is the trick? All my pics are stored on my computer in a library. Thanks for the help.
You have to use a site like Photobucket or Imageshack and use the "link" icon. That's the one that looks like the world and chain link or paper clip thingy.
If you don't want to have a storage account, use imgur.com. It is a sharing site, but posting here is sharing, and you can still keep your pics stored in your library. Just upload your pic to imgur, and copy the link given, and paste it onto the image link here. Like this:

Using the tabs is the much easier method of attaching pictures, plus you can upload them directly from your computer. You obviously know how to do this.
The other method requires that the pictures be hosted somewhere on the internet so you can insert a link using the tools provided.
So,
First, you need a web hosting site like Photobucket. There are many free sites and they all have little differences that make it impossible to explain. However, the result you want is a Web link to your photo.
Once you have a link, follow these steps to add the photo to your post.
1. Place the curser in the spot where you want your photo to appear within the post.
2. Click the link as shown
3. Paste the link in the box as shown and cliack OK. Make sure that you aren't duplicating the HTTP part at the beginning. The forum automatically places it in the box, but most Web links already have it.
HINT: If your link begins with HTTP, delete the pre-loaded HTTP info. If your link simply begins with WWW, you will need the HTTP info.
Your image is now part of your post. The linked image will look like this until you submit your post reply.
