Default Changing the intake?

I bought a 2012 Fat Bob this year with stage 1 work. The air intake is a large Screaming Eagle Chisel Extreme and it pushes into my thigh, hot and annoying
My question is if I was to change to another type of stage 1 intake with a lower profile or something like a Heavy Breather would performance be effected, would the engine have to be re-tuned?

thx

Has the bike been dyno'd, do you have a tuner, or just the dealer stage 1 download?

Most of the Stage 1 filters are capable of moving more air than what the bike uses anyway. You should be fine going with another SE filter.

Check out the super-low profile 587's and 425's HERE.

If you had the bike tuned for your current SE A/C, you will not need it re-tuned.

Dozens of different looks.

The dealer did say its been on the dyno(bought it as trade-in).
Thanks for the advice, I'm going to start looking into some options for a new AC.

I had the same problem with the stock a/c cover, so I went with the SE heavy breather. Gained nearly four more horsepower in the deal and the intake tube is out of the way of my leg.

If you don't want the SE Heavy Breather, then check out Performance Machine Max HP, or the S&S Teardrop(on my bike in signature) - both should improve your knee clearance a lot.
