Just changed my riser bushings on my 2007 street bob, from stock to polyurethane. And wow it makes an enormous difference. Steering feels much more accurate. And you feel much more in control. Allso when moving the bike arround in the driveway or where ever, it feels much easyer to push it.
For those who have never seen or tryed poly bushings i added a picture so you can see what i talk about.
I am pressing quite hard and trying to apply equal pressure.
I just did the same thing last week. Got them jp cycles, like $10.
Like you said one heck of a difference, pinky fingers don't go numb anymore either after riding for awhile. Bars so shake so bad. Great results for little money.
I did that last month after I changed apes and felt my bars "fall" while riding. Swapped bushings and it feels solid as can be. Highly recommended especially if u swap bars. As far as vibration, I didn't notice any difference at all. Some told me it would shake worse because it's a stiffer bushing....I don't feel the difference at all.
I switched mine around July 4th. As a result my handlebars cracked. Found out they were had a recall which was probably a blessing. Love the new ones!!
Thanks for sharing! I've been thinking of putting back my 20'' apes and I know I have to change riser bushings. I was thinking of LA Choppers brass bushings but they're $124...I think I'll go with Polys now, thanks!
I have these ordered and they are en route via USPS. I am swapping out my OEM risers with some FLD risers, keeping my OEM pullback bars on my FXDC. I`m doing this just for looks and to bring bars 1" closer. Have any of you guys felt more vibration like others have said? I could always swap back the OEM rubber bushings if so. They only have 150 miles on them.
i changed to the polys and im still able to move the bars some...i just ordered a set of solid bushings and will have them on next week....i dont mind the vibration increase (i have heard its minimal anyway), i guess ill find out soon enough
