Default Cleaning products for Bob

Anyone found anything that works well at cleaning the black finish on the motor and tranny? It seems to hang on to dirt like its chemically bonded. I only have one tooth brush, but I'm about ready to sacrifice it!

I use windex.Thats was the recomendation of the detailingguy at my stealership. it seems to get the job done it doesn't last as long as I'd like but it does get into the spots I wouldn't be able to i just spray it on wipe where I canand then usemy compressor to blow out the rest on to a rag.

i second on that windex. use a micro-fiber towel.
also works great on the denim black.
AFTER the cleaning with the windex, spray generously some silicone vynil/car interior spray.
and wipe excess from the tins.
guaranteed to restore that deep black matt luster to your dirty denim/wrinkle surfaces.

I use car wash soap and water with a micro fiber towel, then after it's dry, I use this stuff on the wrinkle back finish: http://www.pigspit.com/. Makes it shine!

"Back to Black" Meguires. I use it on the engine and any other black parts. I don't know if it is alright to use on the the denim tank.

On the rare occations when it actually gets a bath, found nothing works better than S100 Total Cycle Cleaner (just make sure to let the engine cool before spraying it on). Otherwise, I try to keep an even coat of limestone dust to cover the swirl marks in the paint...

I agree with ckgdrums. I use pigspit on mine also. Works really good on the black motor parts and the primary. I bought my bottle of pigspit at Walmart.

any spray on cleaner that you can hose off will work, and then hit it with pig spit, or s100 engine brightener. Both wrk well, but pig spit gets my vote as It seems less dust sticks to it.
