Default Brake light question

I noticed last night that my brake light is always on or not coming on when brake is pressed (always same brightness). I have an after market and quickly pulled it and plugged in my original lamp and same thing.
What i saw just looking quickly was that one of my blinker wires is frayed under the rear fender. I think it is messing with my stupid alarm also.
Question is, can this also be effecting my brake light? Not sure since it seems by looking at the bracket the two are not connected.

Sorry for the long post.

The wires going to the taillight and directionals run through a loom under the fender. Since you have already noticed a frayed wire going to the directional it is possible the wires have popped out of the loom and have been rubbing on the back tire. I would start there.

Fix the wires and check your brake light.

After you repair your wires, check your rear brake switch,
