I covered the brackets with a cloth, put them in a vice, and bent them out a little bit at a time until they ended up fitting very nicely around the tubes. The supplied screws were just barely long enough, but the fit was tight.
I decided I wanted a 4-point install, though, and made my own using front turn signal relocation brackets. It took me a long time to get it just right, but was well worth it.
Well with the help of a rubber mallet and longer screws I got the brackets on. It still doesn't fit just right. It is resting right at the top of the triple tree, but it looks like it needs to either sit lower or further out. It hits the tank at full lock. Also I have the headlight relocation bracket, but it didn't seem like it was really gonna work either
Well, now I have it below the triple tree, the head light bracket is on, and the light sits nicely n the hole. But I can't get one if the brackets fastened now, and it hits the fuel gauge at full lock
your problem is you used their mounting system. most people throw that away right away. its easier to get some blinker relocation brackets and mount it up with them. its a solid install and way less headache.
