Default What do i need for new bars

I am looking at getting the carlini menace apes 14 inch for my 13 street bob. My question is what cables to buy. I know I need to get throttle cables, brake and clutch. What brands? also should I get 1.25 bars or 1.25 bars stepped down to 1 inch mounting

Thanks
B

What size at the risers are your stock bars?

Stock Street Bob risers a 1" so either new risers along with new bars (for 1.25") or stock risers and stepped bars.

Risers on a Street Bob are integrated into the top tree so changing them is not really an option unless you change the top tree (which has been done a lot; I believe folks use the top tree from either an FXDL or FXD).

This may help: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...do-i-need.html

There are also a few companies that manufacture adapters for those risers.

Correct. The HD stopped using integrated risers on the Street Bob in 2011 or 2012.

Your risers are 1" diameter, so you want a stepped bar unless you want yo also change risers.

Magnum makes good cables, but HD cables are also good.

Some guys have used stock cables with success on 14" bars. Mine are higher, so I had to get longer cables. You want 2" or 4" longer than stock. Either will work.

I just put Magnum Shielding cables on mine. Can't say enough good things about this company, their product and their customer service. They're great!

Is there a how to anywhere on changing the cables? I've been thinking about doin some 10 or 12" t/mx bars, but my street bob came with the drag bars so I deff need new cables.
