So….I was wondering

Would a thunder header from a 2012 dyna 96" fit a 2001 dyna with an 88"
I know you would have to block off the o2 sensor ports, thats the easy part
But are the exhaust ports on the cylinders the same diameter in the 88" as they are in the 96"

Bc if they are, the mounting system is the same throughout the years, so the exhaust should work?

Are you sure the mounting system is the same? Frames have slightly different geometry. The Bassani that is on my Fat Bob right now was originally on my FXDX, and listed to fit a huge range of years. Long story but if fit horrible on the FXDX and fits like a glove on the Fat Bob.

The one on the DX now is a pipe that is only listed to fit 99-05 and fits great.

 

the header itself will work fine, the mount to the transmission will not as is, you will have to modify the holes in the trans mounting area

 

But if the mount on the 01 is a thunderheader mount for that year couldn't I just extend the slots to fit the newer thunder header model?

bc the 01 had a t-header on it (it was junk)
and I'm selling the 12 with the t-header on it
and I want my thunderheader haha
