Default hello to all!

I have recently switched over from a Kawasaki zrx 1100 to the hd world ( I love it, why didn't I
I do it sooner?!) the only thing is most of the guys I ride with have sport touring bikes. I have a 98 fxds which is very nice but is a little low on get up and go. I have read that a bolt in cam can give me a little more hp so I was wondering what you guys would recommend? and please don't say not to ride with the sport touring crowd! they are my neighbors and friends! any help would be greatly appreciated! I like it the way it is but would like it even more with a little more guts for a little $$.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new bike. You can do some cams and pipes and a/c that will make it run faster and harder, but these Hd's are made more for comfort than speed. I will tell you something that you will like and make your friends mad is when you pull into a gas station and the people come over to talk to you about your HD and not those zukishaki's. Anyway enjoy your new bike and ride safely.

you don't need motor mods,, Spend your money on great sticky tyres and good shocks..Its all about the rider skills, the Harley will keep up just not in acceration , **** coming from a zrx it a wonder you've never said is this bike going (lol)

Welcome to the board.

Depends on how much you want to spend?
Cams and some head work with big bore and tune around $2.500 low side to $4.500 upper side.
just a idea

I have good tires. I went down from here (Newmarket Canada) to lake George with some guys and back in two days. They couldn't believe how the Harley was able to go through the corners so well!! So no problems there, just the acceleration is a little sluggish for my liking..... And yeah your right I was wondering if it was moving at first..... But I love the way it feels when I ride.

Oh yes and the gas mileage is awesome too.
So just wondering what kind of cam some would suggest?
And what kind of experiences you all have had.
